About the Artist: Born in Israel to Yemenite parents and currently living in New York City, Zion Ozeri is one of the world’s leading photojournalists. His parents came to Israel on the famous "Operation Magic Carpet", which brought the distinguished Jews of Yemen to Israel in 1949-1950.  Raised in Israel during a period of mass immigration, he interacted with many diverse cultures. This unique background gave him a cross-cultural perspective that suffuses his work.  He served in the Israeli army as a tank commander during the Yom Kippur War. Zion graduated from the Fashion Institute of Technology and Pratt Institute, both in New York City, where he received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. He was on retainer for the New York Jewish Week, from1980 to 1988. His photographs have appeared on numerous occasions in newspapers and magazines such as; The New York Times, Newsweek, The Jerusalem Report, The Jerusalem Post, Middle East Insight, as well as The Baltimore and The L.A Jewish Times. Zion Ozeri is on a life long quest to document the Jewish world.  He had been to Russia, Eastern Europe, many former Soviet Union Republics, the Middle East including Yemen, Africa, India, Central Asia, and Latin America.  www.ZionOzeri.com
